BEVERLEY ANN (KARNES) MERRY, SHERMAN – Beverley Ann (Karnes) Merry, 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family and caregivers on March 19, 2018, after a long and feisty fight with multiple sclerosis. Beverley was born in Island Falls, Maine, on February 12, 1945, the daughter of Wallace and Vivian Karnes.
After Bev graduated from Sherman High School, she married her husband, Conrad Merry, and raised her two beloved children, her son, Kevin Merry, and daughter, Jennifer Stevens. She shortly after began working as a teacher’s aide at Sherman Elementary where she developed many friendships and bonds with her co-workers and students. Beverley was gifted later in life with two granddaughters, two great joys of her life, MacKenzie and Carly Merry of Sherman.
Bev was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Nancy Karnes, her husband, Conrad, and her son, Kevin. Bev is survived by her daughter, Jennifer and husband, Jonathan Stevens, of Island Falls; her daughter-in-law, Darcy Merry of Sherman; two granddaughters, and many special family members, and lifetime friends.
When Bev wasn’t busy caring for her children, working at school, or working on the family potato farm, you could usually find her right on the farm cooking a delicious meal, or sitting around enjoying a cold glass of coca-cola on her porch. Bev had a true passion and love for laughing, and her sense of humor was very unique and kept her going. She had many friends that she loved visiting with. Bev and her husband, Conrad (Connie), loved to take their children places, and later in life spent much time visiting and going on day excursions with her two grandchildren. Although Bev had much trouble with her health, she kept a positive attitude and a humble outlook on life. She will leave a lot of people in this world with broken hearts, but her family feels comfort in knowing she is now with her husband and son that she recently lost.
Bev’s family would like to thank each and every friend and family member for all of their support through our family’s trying times, along with a special thank you to Dr. Martin Hrynick and Karen Laflamme, P.A. and also his staff, her home care workers, the Patten ambulance service, Beacon Hospice, and everyone who helped to care for her. Bev’s feisty spirit and passion for her family will leave an everlasting mark on each one of us who had the pleasure to know her.
A graveside service will be held for Bev at a later date this spring with details to be announced. For online condolences please visit www.bowersfuneral.com
