HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department is offering several courses for local youths in the coming weeks.
Red Cross Babysitter’s Training
A Red Cross Babysitter’s Training on Thursday, April 19, from 9:30-3:30 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building.
This training is open to youth between the ages of 11-15 years of age. This training is limited to 12 students and costs $50. This is a great opportunity to learn skills, knowledge and to gain the confidence to take care of infants and toddlers.
Participants are asked to bring a lunch & drink on the day of the training. For more information, & to register, call the department at 532-1310 by April 9th.
Youth Indoor Soccer
Indoor Soccer for youth during the April vacation break will be offered at the Rec. Grades 1-2 will meet Tuesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 19, from 9-10:30 a.m.; Grades 3-4 meet Wednesday, April 18 and Friday, April 20 from 9-10:30 a.m.
Each age group is limited to 20 youth. Cost is $10 per child. To register, call the Recreation Department at 532-1310 by April 9th
April Vacation Break Open Gym, Game room Hours
The Houlton Recreation Center will open its game room and gym during the April vacation break for the following hours: Saturday, April 14 through Sunday, April 22, from 1-4 p.m. Children must be in grades 2-12 to attend open gym and game room hours.
Younger than grade 2 must be with an adult. For more information, contact the Recreation Department at 532-1310.
