Cross Lake: Tr. Desrosier responded to a crash involving a snowmobile and a vehicle on a private road in Cross Lake. The 20-year-old man operating the snowmobile was driving west and a pickup being operated by a 56-year-old female was driving east. The woman was not injured.

Presque Isle: Tr. Levesque and Canine Vitz were called to assist the Presque Isle PD with locating two individuals who took off on foot from a trailer. The male had a $15,000 warrant for drug trafficking and was last seen running to the rear of the trailer. The male had lost one of his shoes a short distance from the trailer. The female had a $500 warrant for operating after suspension and was last seen running in front of the trailer down the road in the trailer park. Canine Vitz tracked into the woods down a steep embankment to the shore of a river. Vitz located the male in a large spruce tree about 50 yards from the trailer. The man refused to come down from the tree, but after Tr. Stetson was about to climb up the tree he came down. The troopers arrested the male and handed him over to PIPD. Vitz returned to where the female was last seen. He tracked for almost 3/4 of a mile, including crossing the same road to a clearing, where the female was walking along the edge of the clearing. Troopers confronted and arrested the woman without incident.

Sunday, March 25

Fort Fairfield: Tr. Levesque and Canine Vitz were called for an exterior sniff of a vehicle in Fort Fairfield. Tr. Levesque arrived and recognized the driver, who was suspended. The man had given the Fort Fairfield officer his brother’s name. Vitz performed an exterior sniff of the vehicle and did not alert. Inside the vehicle was a female recently arrested by Fort Fairfield for possession; Vitz found heroin in her possession. She was on bail. Levesque removed her from the vehicle and searched her, but was unable to find anything other than paraphernalia in her belongings. He then saw a small baggie of what he believed to be heroin where she was just standing. He arrested the woman for possession of heroin again and brought her to the Fort Fairfield PD. While sitting in the booking room the woman attempted to hide heroin and methamphetamine in a tissue. A female Border Patrol agent searched her and found more heroin. Police charged the woman with furnishing heroin and meth.
