BERTHA A. CLARK, HOULTON – Bertha A. Clark, 75, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at a Bangor hospital while surrounded by family. She was born on September 10, 1942, in Oromocto, N.B., Canada, the daughter of Michael and Mary Jane (Sacobie) Sabattis.
Bertha grew Kingsclear, N.B., and came over to Houlton in her late teens. She married Elmer Clark and they worked together for many years at Houlton Cab. She enjoyed playing Bingo, putting together puzzles, doing cross stitch, and quilting.
Bertha is survived by a special nephew, Brian Sabattis and his wife, Mary, of Fredericton, N.B.; two brothers, Arthur Sabattis and his wife, Loretta, and Fred Sabattis, both of Fredericton, N.B.; three children, Christopher Richardson, Anastasia Beaverhousen, and Merril Miliea. She also leaves behind a special friend, Rose Tomah, a goddaughter, Elise Leduc, and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Clark and his wife, Margaret, of Ludlow, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Clark, three brothers, Ron, Charlie, and John Sabattis, and a sister, Maryann Sabattis.
Friends may call at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Dunn Funeral Home, where a service will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating. A reception will be held at the Maliseet Tribal Gymnasium immediately following the service. Interment will take place in the spring at the Maliseet Tribal Cemetery, Houlton.
