PORTLAND, Maine – Michael W. Young passed away on March 26, 2018, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine, after a long period of illness.
Michael was born in Fremont, Ohio, on October 4, 1958, the son of the late Frank Young and surviving mother, LaVonne Young of Presque Isle.

He then served in the U.S. Air Force for four years before settling in Portland, Maine, where he resided for 30 years.

Michael loved to run until a change in his health altered this activity. He enjoyed watching sports, running the bracket pool for March Madness, reading books, and eating good food. He loved talking to his mother regularly and hanging out with friends, who enjoyed his sense of humor.
He is survived by his mother, Lavonne Young of Bridgewater; his brothers, John Young and wife, Cynthia, of Veazie, and Steven King of Easton; his sisters, Paula White and husband, Terry, of Easton, and Anna Young of Albany, New York; his nephews, Daniel White of Scarborough and wife, Amy, Shawn White of Saco and wife, Lori, and niece, Amber Walker of Hermon and partner, John, along with his great-nieces and nephews, McKenna, Kobi, Isabella, Ben, and Lily; plus many good friends and fraternity brothers.
