Dorothea E. ‘Dottie’ Nicknair

MAPLETON, Maine – Dorothea E. ‘Dottie’ Nicknair, 77, passed away on April 16, 2018, at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. Dorothea was born on Oct. 16, 1940, in Winterville, daughter of Frank L. and Alice (Deprey) Nicknair.
She worked many years at Beaulieu Hardware and Maine Potato Growers Hardware Store in Presque Isle, and was known as the paint lady. She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Shinn of Puyallup, Washington, and Theresa E. Slocomb and her husband, David R., of Augusta; a brother, Daniel R. Nicknair and his wife, Judy, of Houlton, and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Virginia Nicknair, and three brothers, Richard, Melvin, and Ralph Nicknair.
A private graveside service will be held in June at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery.
