AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine State Forest Service has indicated that the wildfire danger across Aroostook County, Piscataquis County, Northern Somerset, Northern and Central Penobscot County and Northern Washington County is high today.
Forest Service officials advise residents to check with their local fire department or forestry office before doing any burning.
A burn permit is required for all burning.
Low relative humidity and breezy southwest winds this afternoon over these portions of the region are the primary contributions to the fire danger today.
