PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The local Pitch, Hit and Run baseball skills competition will be held Saturday, May 26, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Bishop’s Island Ball Field, which is adjacent to the Sargent Family Community Center.
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is organizing the event. There is no charge to participate, but pre-registration is required. All participants must have a parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the beginning of the competition.
Separate girls and boys age divisions are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Competitors will pitch for accuracy, hit for distance and accuracy, and be timed running the bases.
The individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with the all-around champion in each division age group will receive an award and advance to the sectional level of competition June 3 in Mars Hill.
