Halfway Home Pet Rescue captured Bandit, a young feral cat, this past weekend. He had medical care and neuter surgery May 15 and will recover for a few weeks at the home of an HHPR volunteer trained to work with the feral population. As well as the facial injuries, Bandit’s left cheek is building another painful abscess. He is approximately 2 years old, thin and needs medical attention for other injuries and parasite protection. After he recovers fully, Bandit will be offered free to a farmer who would be willing to let him work the barn as a rodent patroller. Update: HHPR’s recent challenge to help rescued kitten Graylee yielded $40 more than her medical bill. Volunteers appreciate the community’s generosity. Graylee is now in her new home with her rescuers. (Courtesy of HHPR)
