CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou police, with the help of state troopers and a game warden, arrested Brandon Brewer, 34, of Caribou on Monday morning after residents reported the thefts of a motorcycle and pickup truck.

A Sweden Street resident called police at about 5 p.m. on May 19 to report that his 2006 Victory motorcycle, which had been in the garage the day before, was missing, according to a press release issued by the Caribou Police Department.

The next call came on Monday morning, May 21, from a resident who told police that his 2006 GMC pickup was stolen, and that a motorcycle had been left in his yard. Officers confirmed that the discarded motorcycle matched the stolen bike from Saturday. At 10:30 a.m., the same caller informed police that a man had just returned his truck and then ‘took off on foot into the woods,” according to the release.

A large search ensued involving Keith Ouellette, Gerard LeMoine, and Kegan McPherson of the Caribou Police Department, State Police Lt. Brian Harris, Troopers Andrew Levesque, Adam Stoutamyer, Patrick Pescitelli and K9 Vitz, Deputy Sheriff Corey Saucier, and Maine Game Warden Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The officers soon found and apprehended Saucier, according to the release.

Once in custody, police charged Brewer with two counts of unauthorized use of property, operating after suspension, and being a habitual offender. The charges are all Class C felonies because of his extensive criminal history, according to police.

Brewer remains at the Aroostook County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 5.
