ISLAND FALLS, Maine — It was a busy week at the golf course, as many took advantage of the nice sunny days to enjoy a round of golf or a meal at The Slice. It looks like some much needed rain will happen this week as the course goes from being wet in spots to needing rain.
The twilight league is scheduled to begin on June 12, so sign up your two person team in the golf shop. This is a fun filled weekly game. If you haven’t play in past years, this would be the year to do so. With your handicap it makes all teams competitive.
The largest turn out of the year took place Sunday for Couples Golf. Finishing first in the scramble format were Greg Gayne, Jon and Betty Smallwood with a sizzling 33. Two strokes back, at 35 were Sara Douglas, Mike and Joy Ivey. Third place went to Tom Ryan, John and Deborah Porter at 37. Come on out and plan on playing this Sunday at 3 p.m.
There will be a Father’s day Scramble, Saturday, June 16, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Make up your own four person team, or sign up at the shop and we will pair you up. The entry fee is $10 for members and $30 for guests, which includes closest to the pin on the par threes. Call the shop or see Warren for details.
