The Oakfield Senior Citizens met for their first meeting in June at The Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club.
Attending were Marie Gillotti, Mildred Gagnon, Bob and Delores Locke, Bernice Campbell, Arlene Friel, Don and Charlotte Marley, Wannetta Townsend, George Barrow, Kathleen Boutilier, Iona Nadeau, Jeanne Clements, Earl and Lottie Doughty and guest Laura Farnsworth.
Arlene Friel was the 50/50 winner. Peanut butter and jelly were collected for the Bangor Savings Bank summer program. Thanks to all who participated.
After the potluck luncheon and the kitchen clean-up was completed, the business meeting was called to order, followed by The Lord’s Prayer and The Flag Salute.
All reports were read and accepted. There were no birthdays to celebrate this month.
Our summer outing will be our next meeting on June 20.
The Machias Savings Bank is collecting food items for the Backpacks for Kids program and a list of the foods needed was supplied.
All seniors are invited to join us for food and fun on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
