DORIS ‘NANA’ INGRAHAM, HAMMOND – Doris ‘Nana’ Ingraham, 78, of Hammond, died on June 15, 2018, in Bangor, with her family at her side. She was born on Mar. 7, 1940, in Houlton, the daughter of Ray and Lottie (Niles) McLean.
Mom grew up on a farm with nine siblings. She was no stranger to hard work and would say “nothing is free, you work for what you want.” She never looked back always on to the next adventure. Mom had the biggest heart and warmest smile that greeted you every time you came into her house. Everyone called her Nana. I don’t believe anyone knew her real name. She was “My Nana.”
Mom enjoyed baking especially for family gatherings, she “Rocked” at playing cards even if she cheated here and there (she wasn’t very discrete about it), and also enjoyed crocheting, fishing, camping, flower gardens, and an occasional trip to the casino if she could spend Jim’s money of course, side by side rides, and kissing those grand and great-grand babies (most of all she loved her family unconditionally).
She is survived by two daughters, Molly (Richard) Notto and Brenda (David) McGillicuddy; grandchildren, James Jr. (Eunice) McAfee, Tena (Gary) Lipcsei, Daniel McGillicuddy, and Anissa Sabattis, Andrew McGillicuddy and Brittany Clark; great-grandchildren, Michael McAfee, Eric Lipcsei, Sawyer Lipcsei, and Grant McGillicuddy. She is also survived by three sisters, Lois Sylvia, Joanne (Henry) Osowiecki, and Paulette (Royce) Billings, and two brothers, Gary (Carol) McLean and Floyd (Rena) McLean; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Donald, a grandson, Michael Folsom II (Mikie), a brother, Fred and sisters, Iris McIver, Marjorie Grant, and Linda Paradis, and a special aunt, Newty Chambers.
Friends called from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services were conducted at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, with Pastor Mark Carter Officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.
