PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Chester Williams, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at his home in Presque Isle. He was born in Altha, FL, on March 16, 1933, the son of Daniel and Roxie (Brooks) Williams.
He served in the US Air Force for 20 years. Chester worked for SAD #1 as a bus driver and custodian for 31 years. He attended the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, who he married on December 15, 1951, Geraldine (Russell) Williams of Presque Isle; his four children, Robert Williams, Jane James and her husband, Larry, Michael Williams and his wife, Linda, and Stephen Williams and his wife, Sandra; grandchildren, Amy Polyot, Ben James, Meghan Williams, Kate Hazelton, Colleen and Michael Jr. Williams, and Jessica Cote; and two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Eleanor Hazelton; two sisters, Lodean Tate and Loreen Smith, and four brothers, Lester, Alvin, Lloyd, and Kenneth Williams, as well as a special neighbor, Nick Powers. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jeweldean Harris, and Seable Perry.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Aroostook staff for all the excellent care and support. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, with Pastors Darren Bonville and Bud Fancy officiating.
