HOULTON, Maine — Lisa MacDonald of Houlton has never set foot on a cruise ship before, but will now have a golden opportunity to do so thanks to her employer.
MacDonald was named Dunkin Donuts Drewco LLC Manager of the Year and received a seven-day, all-inclusive cruise to the Bahamas on the NCL Norwegian Dawn.
“I was like, ‘Wow, seriously,’” she said. “It was really neat and I am very grateful to work for a company that does things like this for its employees.”
MacDonald has worked at the Houlton branch for the past seven years and has been its manager for the last three.
“Lisa’s dedication to her guests, her excellent work ethic and team building skills are a part of her success,” said Tanya Lyons, director of operations for northern Maine for Drewco LLC/Dunkin Donuts. “Lisa has amazing energy and truly cares about her customers and employees.”
MacDonald is involved in her community. She is a member of the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce, a supporter of the Houlton Recreation Department and Gentle Memorial Civic Center. She also supports the community through many donations to local causes over the years such as local school needs, animal shelters and charitable events.
Drewco LLC operates five Dunkin Donuts locations in northern Maine with stores in Millinocket, Houlton, Caribou and two in Presque Isle.
Her husband Brian and son Brennen will accompany MacDonald on the cruise, which leaves from Boston on Friday, July 13.
