FORT KENT, Maine — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension staff will demonstrate current methods of safely preparing, handling and serving food for large group functions in this hands-on workshop designed specifically for volunteers.
The class, scheduled in three St. John Valley locations, meets the Good Shepherd Food Bank food safety training requirements.
Classes will be Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Madawaska Safety Complex; Thursday, Aug. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Van Buren Community Center; and Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fort Kent Community High School.

The $15-per-person fee includes all materials. If registration is cancelled within six days of the class start date, any payment made will be refunded minus a $5 service fee. Course fees will be refunded in full if a class is canceled.
