ISLAND FALLS, Maine — The Friday Night Frolic has been a great success. Steve Merry, Don Metzger and Betty Smallwood torched the front nine with a 33 to take top prize. Following one stroke behind, at 34, were Jenness Gushee, Fern Zepp, John Smallwood, and Cecil Hanson. Finishing in third place, were Stu Kelley, Mike Ivey, Jennifer Metzger, and Dick Kelley, with 36.
One stroke behind them, were Tom Ryan, Pete Lawlor, Deb Porter, and Greg Gayne. Still another stroke back, with 38, were Alen Zepp, Becky Kelley, John Porter, and Ralph Powers. Next at 39, were Clay Halliday, Andy Ivey, and Valerie Powers.
Everyone is enjoying the “Buy one, Get one” appetizers at the Slice after golf, along with their favorite beverage. Again this Friday, we will be having another frolic, starting at 5:30 p.m. sharp.
Twilight League is moving along nicely. Some good scores this week: Adam Derosier with 36, Warren Walker with 37, Bill Dwyer with 38, Steve Edwards with 38, Jon Smallwood with 43, Tom Ryan with 44, and Brent Kelley with 48.
A big crowd turned out for the Sunday Pairs and Spares Scramble at 3 p.m. Plan on attending next Sunday at 3 p.m., for a nine hole scramble and dinner after.
The Island Falls Summerfest kicks off at the end of the month. Many fun activities are planned, including Moonlight Golf on Friday, Aug. 3 at 9 p.m. Mark it on your calendar! The Slice will be closing on Saturday, July 21st at 5 p.m. for a private function. Otherwise, it is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or later, daily.
