PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The start of the 2018-19 school year is just around the corner and Presque Isle High School will soon open up various offices for the coming fall semester.
PIHS Principal Ben Greenlaw announced the following dates.
Monday, Aug. 6: Health Office opens. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students transferring to PIHS must begin the registration process in the SAD 1 Health Office. Call 764-8105 to schedule an appointment.
Tuesday, Aug. 7: Guidance Office opens. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Call 764-7721 to make an appointment with one of the three guidance counselors.
Monday, Aug. 13: Fall sports begin. This will also be an in-service day for all PIHS faculty and staff (the school will be closed to students).
Tuesday, Aug. 14: In-service day for PIHS faculty and staff (the school will be closed to students). An evening parent orientation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium. This orientation is for all parents whose student will be entering PIHS as a freshman or as a transfer student.
Wednesday, Aug. 15: New student day, 8:15 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. This will be a day of school for grade 9, transfer students, and students attending PIRCTC and CRTC. PIRCTC and CRTC students will need to be in attendance for their CTE classes only. Bus transportation will be provided and breakfast and lunch will be served.
Thursday, Aug. 16: First day of school for all PIHS students.
