WASHBURN, Maine — The Salmon Brook Historical Society is busy preparing for its sixth annual Quilt Show and Tea, which will be held Sunday, Aug. 5, at 1267 Main St., Washburn.
Four different settings will take place at 11 a.m., 12:15, 1:30 and 2:45 p.m. For each session, different people connected to the historical society will pour tea and greet guests.
The various quilts are transforming the Aroostook Agricultural Museum into a rainbow of color with tea tables at the center. Quilts spill into the Wilder Homestead Museum, and its back porch will feature a craft sale which will also benefit the upkeep of the two museums.
Organizers say this year’s quilts come from women and men from Falmouth to Fort Kent, ranging from beginner to accomplished. Some of the quilts will have been displayed at the Maine State Quilt Show in Augusta July 26-28.
Tickets for the event are $10 each. For tickets, contact Wanita at (863) 398-0311 or Rita at (207) 429-0359.
