HOULTON, Maine — Although school does not start for another month, fall sports teams will soon start practicing for the new season.
Starting Monday, Aug. 13, fall sports squads in both Houlton and Hodgdon middle-high schools will start their practice schedules for the new season.
At Houlton, varsity girls soccer will practice from 7-8:30 a.m. and again from 6-7:30 p.m.; varsity boys soccer practices from 6-8 p.m.; varsity golf begins at noon at the Houlton Community Golf Course; cross country commences practice at 4:30 p.m.; varsity football begins at 5 p.m. at the practice field; middle school boys soccer meets from 9-10:30 a.m.; and middle school girls soccer practices from 4:30-6 p.m.
Fall cheering will once again be offered at Houlton, but no date has been established for practice, according to RSU 29 Athletic Director Bruce Nason.
At Hodgdon, the varsity girls soccer team will meet at 8 a.m. on the soccer field; middle school boys and girls will practice at 4 p.m.; and the varsity boys practice at 6 p.m.
All students must have a current physical on file in order to play any fall sport.
