ORANGE, CT – Evelyn Sodergren Moran, 99, of Orange, Connecticut, wife of the late William B. Moran, passed away on August 8, 2018, peacefully at her home. She was born in Stockholm, Maine, on November 20, 1918, to the late August and Lena Sodergren.
Evelyn was employed as a secretary for the Navel Department in Washington, D.C., where she met and married her beloved husband. Long term resident of Orange, she was a member of the Orange Historical Society and the First Lutheran Church of West Haven. Evelyn will always be remembered for her intelligence, wit, and caring nature, and for the love she gave to her family.
She is survived by her son, Steven Moran (Kathleen) of Cheshire, Connecticut; and daughter, Eileen Scarpetta (Vincent Jr.) of Moosic, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Carr of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; brother, John Sodergren of Stockholm, Maine; and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her loving siblings, Joyce Van Trump, Lynwood Sodergren, Ronald Sodergren, and Robert Sodergren. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Vincent, Steven (Courtney), and Katherine Scarpetta.
