The Easton Recreation Department recently hosted an Art Camp Time Travel. Projects included three eras.
Ancient Egypt was first, with projects including Death Mask, using figure drawing, making realistic/proportional faces; canopic jars, in which participants worked with clay and coil pots; and the Pyramids, studying hieroglyphics and 3D geometric shape.
Then came medieval Europe. A study of cathedrals included mosaics and a paper project; and rose windows featured a paper and cellophane project and students learned to use a utility knife.
In the era of the 1960’s to now, pop art included Andy Warhol, where participants completed a paper and marker project and learned primary, secondary, warm, cool and complementary colors; and Tom Fedro, where the focus was on abstract pop art faces and using acrylic paint on canvas board.
Special thanks to our guest instructor Kristina Lento and volunteer Emma Lamoreau.
