FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine – Joan Marie (Sickles) McLaughlin, 78, of Fort Fairfield, passed away peacefully at a Mars Hill Nursing Facility on August 10. She was the widow of Mylon (Mike) McLaughlin. She was born September 13, 1939 in Bangor to the late James and Ida (Boss) Sickles.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, scrapbooking, computer games, and playing cribbage.
She is survived by son Stan Harris, Jr. and his wife Betsy, daughters Therese Cyr and her companion Kevin Sturgeon, and Michele Hemphill and her husband Craig. Stepchildren Debra Cote and her husband Bill; and Stanley and Brian McLaughlin. Grandchildren Stan Harris, III and wife Leah, Jill Griffeth and her husband Ryan, Shonda Morrill and her husband Justin, Jordan McLaughlin and his fiance Meg Mullinex, Clarissa and Megan Hemphill, and Duane and James Cote. Great-grandchildren Alexander, Zachariah, and Ellianna Harris, Logan and Taylor Griffeth, Cayleigh and Caleb Morrill, Allyssa and Ryan Cote. Sisters-in-law Mary Sickles and Leatrice Greaves, several nieces and nephews, and special family friend Lisa Supranovich.
In addition to her husband, and parents, she was predeceased by daughter Robin Harris, grandson Ricky Cyr, Jr, and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
