MAPLETON, Maine – Nancy A. Charette, 69, passed away on Monday August 20, 2018, at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. She was born on November 26, 1948, in Surry, ME, the daughter of Roger and June (Koons) Kane.
She worked as the lead programmer at Maine Public Service and retired from Emera Maine after 46 years. Nancy was a former chairman of the membership committee at the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club, loved to crochet, and crocheted hundreds of caps for cancer patients and newborns.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Daniel Charette of Mapleton, whom she married on June 22, 1968; two brothers and their wives, Roger and Joyce Kane of Portland, and Larish and Susie Kane of Milton, NH; and a sister, Barbara Kurr and her companion, Wilmot Benjamin, of Easton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was much loved by all her family.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Nancy O’Neal, Lucy Richards, Caribou Rehab and Nursing staff, and the House of Comfort for all the great care given to Nancy. Relatives and friends called at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, where a Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment was held at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery.
