CALVIN HAROLD RYDER SR., LINNEUS – Calvin Harold Ryder Sr., 83, passed away September 2, 2018, at his home, with his family at his side.
He was predeceased by his father, Harold Ryder; mother, Zona Smith; and an older brother, Kenneth.
He was born in Lisbon May 31, 1935, he joined the Army after graduating from Freeport High School. Enjoyed working with wood and one of his greatest achievements was building a log cabin.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Golding) Ryder; and children, Calvin, Belinda, Zoe-Ann, Julie and Rita and their spouses, Carrie, Bruce, Jeff and Steve, 11 grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and one on the way. He is also survive by two sisters, Sandy Randall (George) and Millie Robinson; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Ryder. He wanted to send a special thanks to Zachary Hethcoat, a grandson for handcrafting his urn from Birdseye maple from the land that he always loved, and thanks to Jimmy Valente for bringing the log home cabin to Crow Hill.
