PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Richard Eugene Winsor Sr. of Presque Isle, Maine died September 1, 2018 after a short stay in the House of Comfort in Presque Isle, Maine. He was born on Feb 26, 1943 to James & Bertha (Landis) Winsor in Greencastle, PA. Richard served in the US Airforce as a Basic Airman.
Richard was a Mechanic by trade and retired from MPG. He was an avid sportsman that loved the outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and wood working. His favorite hunting spot was West Chapman, Maine and enjoyed many fishing trips to Eastport, Maine.
Richard was pre-deceased by his wife of 46 years, Madeline Margaret (Weaver) Winsor. He is survived by three children, Richard “Spud” Winsor Jr. and his wife Sandra of N. Waterboro, Maine, Rebecca (Perkins) Rand and her late husband Stephen Rand of Presque Isle and Lloyd “Skipper” Perkins. He is also survived by his fiancé Lucy Stevens.
Richard had 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard is survived by two sisters and a brother. Martha Farrow, Betty Timmos and Dennis Winsor, and pre-deceased by two brother in law’s, John Farrow and Martin Timmos.
Richard is pre-deceased by a twin sister Donna Winsor who passed away at age 9, and a brother James Winsor.
No funeral services will be held. Donations in Richard’s memory can be made to the House of Comfort in Presque Isle, Maine.
