PORTLAND, Maine – Christopher Duncan Griffiths, the son of David and Roberta Griffiths of Presque Isle, died on August 28, 2018, after a long period of declining health. He was born on September 19, 1967, in Presque Isle.
He is survived by his parents; and siblings, Jeffrey B. Griffiths (Mary) of Portland, Suzanne L. Griffiths of Vassalboro, and Jeremy J. Griffiths of Lebanon, NH.
Christopher graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1986, attended St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH, and the University of Maine. He settled in Portland. He was an avid skier having skied in Europe and in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, as well as the mountains of Maine, especially at Big Rock and the Nordic Heritage Center in Aroostook County.
While living in Presque Isle, he was an active member of the Presque Isle Congregational Church (UCC), serving on the Board of Deacons. He was active as well with G.I.F.T., representing his church.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Eva Griffiths of Portland, and Cole, Lucy, and Phoebe Griffiths of Lebanon, NH.
A memorial service was held at Presque Isle Congregational Church (UCC) on September 2, 2018. Gifts in Chris’ memory may be made to the Presque Isle Congregational Church (UCC).
