HODGDON, Maine — A Hodgdon man managed to avoid injury Saturday afternoon when his truck rolled over on U.S. Route 1.
According to acting Sheriff Shawn Gillen, Benjamin Quint, 44, of Hodgdon was traveling north on Route 1 in a 1991 Dodge Ram pickup truck, hauling a trailer loaded with telephone poles, when he lost control of the vehicle.
Gillen said the weight on the trailer was not evenly distributed and when the driver applied the brakes, the trailer overturned causing the truck to roll over. It was unclear why Quint was hauling a trailer load of telephone poles.
The truck came to rest on its roof, but the driver was not injured, according to police.
Quint was wearing a seatbelt, Gillen said. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
Deputy Sheriff Ryan Johnston investigated the crash.
