CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Middle School boys’ soccer team finished with a 6-6-1 record following a win and a tie during the final week of the season.

Griffen McNeal ended up leading the team with 10 points after accumulating seven goals and three assists. Alex Levesque was right behind with 9 points (nine goals) and Jude Shea registered seven points (five goals and two assists).

Caribou defeated Ashland 2-0 on Sept. 24. Aryan Bawa scored off a Dawson St. Pierre assist in the first half, while McNeal notched an unassisted goal in the second half. Jace Violette and Bobby Caron had strong offensive outings. Jaden Picard had the shutout in goal and Mason St. Peter, Konnor Huckin and Eliot Sleeper were the defensive standouts.

The finale on Saturday, Sept. 29, was the most exciting game of the season, according to coach Steve Perreault. The Vikings trailed 2-0 with five minutes remaining, but Levesque netted a pair of quick goals to tie the game. After PI regained the lead with two minutes left, Levesque capped off his hat trick by tallying with a minute to go. The teams went into overtime and settled for the 3-3 draw.

Shea and Bawa garnered assists for Caribou. Alex Belanger, Devin Wright, Keegan Bell and Jacob Walton all played well on the defensive end of the field for the Vikings.
