ANDREW E. MACPHERSON RAYMOND, HOULTON, AND OCALA, FL – Andrew MacPherson, 81, passed away September 8, 2018 at Springbrook Nursing Home in Westbrook, Maine. He was born on April 16, 1937 in Houlton, the son of Fred and Thelma (Turney) MacPherson.
Andrew graduated from Houlton High School in 1955. He married his high school sweetheart, Jean Pryor, on August 8, 1959. Their sons Michael and Dean were born in Houlton.
After working in his own business in the wood industry, he was employed by the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad and a wood chip mill in Houlton. In the late 1960s they moved to Windham, Maine, where Andrew was employed by Coles Express Trucking, as a driver.
Andrew and Jean retired in Ocala, FL, spending their winters there and back to Raymond in the summer, until Jean became ill. Andrew drove to Gainsville from his home in Ocala every day that Jean was hospitalized.
Surviving Andrew are sons Michael and Dean of Raymond; grandchildren Lillian MacPherson and Michael Willey of Windham; sister Jane MacPherson; sisters-in-law Betty DeWitt and Shirley Ward of Houlton. Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean, two sisters, Ann MacPerson and Joyce Hamilton and her husband Robert Hamilton, and brothers-in-law Larry Pryor, Carl DeWitt and James Ward.
Donations may be made, if wished, to the Cancer Fund in Andrew’s memory.
