KILBURN R. BRANNEN, OAKFIELD – Kilburn R. Brannen, 68, Oakfield, died Oct. 17, 2018, in Houlton, with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 4, 1950, in Island Falls, the son of Leon and Hazel (Springer) Brannen.
Kilburn served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, lobster fishing, and being with his family and friends. Kilburn was known for his hugs and passion of guns.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Danielle Brannen of Oakfield; his children, Christopher Brannen of Eagle Lake, Eric Brannen of Masardis, and Randy Brannen of Milo; his stepchildren, Robynne and Paul Hoyt of Houlton, Robbie and Mindy Burby of Ashland, and Renee Burby of Millinocket; several stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a twin brother, Keith Brannen of Island Falls; close friends, Sterling Tarr, Mark Lewis, Bobby and Peggy Berg and Chad Fuller; and his special pets, Willo and Gracie. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Willard Brannen; a sister, Priscilla Crandall; a sister-in-law, Bernardene Brannen; and mother-in-law, Eugenia Phelps.
At Kilburn’s request, there will only be a graveside service Friday, Oct. 26, at noon at the Merrill Cemetery with the Rev. Andy Harthorne Off. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice. Online condolences at www.bowersfuneral.com.
