Maine’s congressional delegation is forcefully denouncing pipe bombs and suspicious packages sent to prominent Democrats.
Republican Sen. Susan Collins, who faced her own scare with a letter that claimed to contain ricin, said there’s “no place in our society for threats or harassment against anyone.”
Independent Sen. Angus King said it’s OK to have political differences but that “this kind of thing is just outside the realm of what America’s all about.”
[Writer said letter sent to Collins’ Bangor home contaminated with ricin]
Democratic Rep. Chellie Pingree, who was threatened in 2014 along with President Barack Obama, said such actions “have no place in our democracy.” And Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin said the threats have “no place in our politics or discourse.”
