The University of Maine at Presque Isle volleyball team will be the No. 3 seed heading into the North Atlantic Conference championship tournament Nov. 2 and 3.
The top-seeded Maine Maritime Academy Mariners will host the tourney. They own an overall record of 20-6 and are 5-1 in conference play.
UMPI, at 10-16 overall and 3-2 in NAC play, will take on No. 2 SUNY-Canton (13-12, 4-1) at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. MMA will take on No. 4 Husson (5-17, 2-3) at 6 p.m. in the other semifinal.
The winners of Friday’s matches advance into the finals on Saturday at noon. The NAC champion will represent the conference at the NCAA regionals Nov. 9-11.
On Saturday, the Owls split matches with MMA and Husson. The Mariners handed UMPI a 3-0 loss. Game scores were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-9. Devine Hoskie led UMPI with 27 digs and seven kills.
In the 3-0 triumph over Husson, by scores of 26-24, 25-21 and 25-22, Hoskie had 20 kills and 27 digs and Laura Aroz paced the Owls with 27 assists.
