WASHBURN, Maine — A Washburn man is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly ramming into his wife’s vehicle and driving dangerously, according to the Washburn Police Department.
Police arrested Easton Bull, 40, of Washburn early Friday morning and charged him with domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening, and criminal mischief, according to a press release issued by the Washburn Police Department. Bull is being held at the Aroostook County Jail without bail.
The Washburn Police Department said it received a call Thursday night about two SUVs speeding in the area of McManus and Hines Streets, with the caller reporting that one of the vehicles had driven onto the homeowner’s yard and spun out before speeding off onto New Dunntown Road.
After receiving a second call, police concluded that the incident was related to a domestic violence assault that had taken place on Storey Street, Washburn Police Chief Rob Thibeault said in the press release.
Thibeault and Officer Kyle Rider began an investigation with assistance from members of the Maine State Police, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and Maine Warden Service.
Police determined that Bull “rammed his wife’s unoccupied car” in their driveway and then drove off after a Jeep driven by another woman, believing his wife was a passenger, according to the press release.
Police said Bull struck the Jeep several times during the chase and in the process damaged several mailboxes, stop signs and lawns. Police issued a temporary warrant for Bull’s arrest before he was located and taken into custody by Rider, according to the release.
