HOULTON, Maine — Vital Pathways, a non-profit organization that has supported the southern Aroostook region since 1994, awards several mini grants over the years.
Local municipalities and community-based organizations within the southern Aroostook region may apply for a mini grant in the spring of the year. Two local projects were chosen in 2018 to each receive a $500 mini grant.
The town of Monticello received a grant to replace the front steps and ramp of the town’s new community center at the site of the former Methodist Church.
The other recipient was The Link for Hope Coalition for their efforts in training five people as Peer Recovery Coaches. Link for Hope is currently working on establishing a Recovery Center in the Southern Aroostook Region to assist individuals with substance abuse.
The next round of Vital Pathways mini grant applications are available in April of 2019.
Vital Pathways has helped community members raise funds through partnerships to better our region. These partnerships allow fund raising activities to take place through the umbrella of Vital Pathways 501c3 status.
Recent projects include Golf for Life, Northern Maine Lacrosse Club, The Riverfront Committee, and Hometown Proud, the gold leafing of the court house. All monies raised must meet the goals and mission of the Vital Pathways, which is to improve the quality of life in our communities.
