All-conference and sportsmanship teams in the North Atlantic Conference have been announced for women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, women’s cross country and men’s cross country, with several University of Maine at Presque Isle athletes being recognized.
For women’s volleyball, Owl sophomores Miranda Washinawatok of Shawano, Wisconsin, and Maddie Thweatt of Middleton, Idaho, and junior Devine Hoskie of Shonto, Arizona, all garnered second team honors. Abigail Parks, a freshman, earned a spot on the Sportsmanship Team.
Nobody made all-conference in soccer, but senior Mikayla Churchill and junior Parker Thompson, both of Washburn, were selected to the Sportsmanship Teams.
For women’s cross country, Valentine Degiovanni, a freshman from Nice, France, captured first team all-conference honors, while teammates Emilia Churchill, a freshman from Washburn, and Irina Norkin, a freshman from Denmark, Maine, made the second team. Chenoa Jackson, a senior from Wilton, was UMPI’s representative on the Sportsmanship Team.
Making it on the men’s cross country Sportsmanship Team was UMPI’s Andrew Hunt, a senior from Peterborough, New Hampshire. There were no Owls making it on the all-conference squad.
