AROOSTOOK COUNTY, Maine – Susan G. Whitehead, president and CEO of NorState Federal Credit Union, along board chairman Clifton Cyr, announce the appointment of Jeffrey Davenport of Fort Fairfield to the NorState board of directors, replacing Dale Danie of Madawaska.

Davenport grew up in Fort Fairfield, where he attended local schools. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Maine, and then earned his master of business management from Husson College.

Davenport recently served on the advisory council of the Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation and was past chairman of the New England Credit Union Executive Society Council.

Jeff and his wife, Sherrie Sirois Davenport, recently moved back to Fort Fairfield after having worked the past 15 years in Massachusetts.

Davenport currently works as a consultant for credit unions of all sizes with their financial and strategic directions. He is a past president of the Fort Fairfield and Southbridge, Mass., Rotary Clubs and past president of the Aroostook Chapter of Credit Unions. He has spent most of his professional career as a credit union executive.

“I’m extremely excited to join the NorState volunteer board of directors,” Davenport said. “This credit union has always been on the cutting edge of new products and services for their members, and I hope my 30-plus years of experience in financial services will help grow the credit union to be relevant for members as well as attract consumers in our area.”
