Two members from the PIHS Critical Issues Forum (CIF) team, Jonas Kinney, left, and Eric Freeman, have been selected by the team to attend the CIF Spring Conference in Vienna, Austria from April 30-May 3 with teacher Linda Palmer. Only five of 12 American schools were selected. The conference will be held in conjunction with the 2012 Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Preparatory Committee (NPT PrepCom) meeting in preparation for the 2015 NPT Review Conference. Students from the U.S., Russia, China, Austria and Jordan will have the opportunity first-hand to observe international diplomacy. The Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Department of Energy are covering the costs of airfare, meals, accommodations and travel insurance.
