PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Regional Career and Technical Center, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, recently held its annual Program Advisory Board dinner.
During the event, the board offered special tributes to some past graduates, recognizing outstanding alumni from each of its programs.
Faculty at the center wanted to promote and celebrate 50 years of student success, so they selected an outstanding alumnus from each educational program, both current and discontinued.
The honorees all began their education as students at PIRCTC and went on to continued success in their chosen career fields. Current instructors presented each of them with a plaque and certificate of congratulations.
The award recipients included: Leah Buck, business; Norman Burby, farm mechanics; Aaron Buzza, agri-science; Laura Hunter, early childhood; Dale Johnston, graphic arts; Robert Kaiser, automotives; Rick Nadeau, building trades; Stephen Nichols, electricity; and Jeremy Ouellette, drafting.
PIRCTC first opened its doors in the fall of 1968 to service the vocational educational needs of students in the central Aroostook County area. The program includes students from Ashland, Caribou, Easton, Fort Fairfield, Mars Hill, Presque Isle and Washburn.
