Carlisle swimmers compete at Old Town

OLD TOWN, Maine — The Carlisle swim team on Friday competed in its second meet of the season and its first away from home.

Old Town was the opponent and the host Coyotes won the girls’ meet by a score of 123-35 and also took the boys’ meet, 102-30.

Cassidy Coiley of Carlisle was the runner-up in the 200 individual medley in 2:40.08, less than a second behind event winner Abby Ketch of Old Town. Coiley also was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:13.29.

Annicka Benson of Carlisle was third in the 200 freestyle in 22:47.59 and third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:41.12. Riley McNeal was third in the 50 freestyle in 33.18 seconds and third in the 500 freestyle in 7:57.04

For the Carlisle boys, Jason Bernaiche was second in the 100 butterfly in 1:09.47 and second in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.91.

Spencer Soucy was third in the 200 free in 2:46.43 and third in the 100 free in 1:08.09, while Chris Parent was third in the 50 free in 29.22 seconds and third in the 100 back in 1:16.36.

Carlisle’s next meet is against Hampden Academy at Husson University in Bangor beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21.
