The Big East Conference has released its list of final individual basketball statistics for girls, with Presque Isle and Caribou players making the top 10 in several categories.
Freshman Faith Sjoberg of Presque Isle was fifth in scoring average at 12.4 points per game. Trinity Montigny of Ellsworth and Makenzie Beaudry of Foxcroft Academy tied for the league lead, each with a 16.6 ppg average.
Senior Alexis Rodriguez of Caribou was seventh in assists at 2.6 per game and Wildcat senior Madison Michaud was eighth at 2.4. Hermon’s Paige Plissey led the conference with 4.3 per contest.
Sjoberg finished sixth in 3-point field goal percentage at 34.8 percent, with the league leader, Madelynn Emerson of Old Town, shooting 43.2 percent.
Rodriguez was second in steals, averaging 3.7 per game. Michaud was eighth at 2.6 per game. Plissey also was first in this category, averaging 5.
Caribou junior Taylor LaBreck was the only local player in the top 10 in free throw percentage. LaBreck was at 62.1 percent, good for fifth in the conference. On top was Cait Tracy of Hermon, who shot 70.3 percent from the line.
LaBreck also was fifth in the conference in two-point percentage at 45.6 percent. Tracy was the league leader at 55.4 percent.
There were no players from Caribou and Presque Isle in the top 10 in rebounding. Beaudry led the league at 14.8 per game.
As a team, Presque Isle led the Big East in 3-point field goals made (144), 3-point field goals attempted (532), total points (900) and points per game (50).
