Leach, Richard W., 75, of Easton, died July 21. EASTON – Our Dad, Richard W. Leach, 75, went to be with his Lord, July 21, 2007 after a brief illness. He was a faithful husband to our Mom for 52 years who he certainly missed these past three years since her death. He loved all his family and was a wonderful Grampy and Great Grampy.
He was born August 28, 1931, in Presque Isle, the son of George and Evelyn (McEntee) Leach. He graduated from Presque Isle High School, and lived in Easton most of his adult life – living in Mars Hill the last year. Dad worked on the Merle Lamoreau Sr. farm in Easton and then ACAP until his retirement. He made friends easily and had many friends throughout Maine. His joys included church, hunting, fishing, fiddle heading, gardening, cooking for family and friends, helping others, visits from all and especially the little ones.
Dad will be missed but not forgotten by his four sons; Alfred and his wife, Jackie, of Presque Isle, Rodney and his wife, Barbara, of Washburn, Paul and his wife, Peggy, of West Gardiner, Kelly and partner, Sarah, of Lewiston; a special daughter, Karla Madore and her husband, Ronald, of Buxton; seven granddaughters, five great grandsons, six great granddaughters; two brothers, George and his wife, Marjorie, and Darrell and his wife, Mary of Presque Isle; two sisters, Christine of Presque Isle, and Evelyn Miller and her husband Ronald of Florida. He was predeceased by a brother, Merle and a sister, Phyllis Pendexter.
We want to thank all who visited him, the staff and Dr. Alexander of Family Practice along with all the staff at TAMC who took care of dad during his last week.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 24, 2007 at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle with Pastor Mathew Maxwell officiating.
