WOODLAND, Maine — The Town of Woodland is preparing for its annual town meeting and municipal elections next month.

Municipal elections will be held 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 18, in the town office. The town meeting will follow at 7 the next evening, March 19, in the Woodland Consolidated School gymnasium and will include, among other items, a request for residents to approve the current year’s budget.

As of Feb. 19, documents for the town meeting and municipal elections for the select board and school board were not yet available at the town office. There is one open position to be filled on each board.

Selectmen, during their Feb. 19 meeting, voted to move $15,000 from the town reserve account to regular equipment repair and also to move $2,000 from the building line to regular heating expenses.

During the office updates portion of the meeting, officials also mentioned that a second visit from an auditor with Felch and Company went well, and also that the first 18 pages of the annual report, which will be available at the March 19 town meeting, are completed.
