The Big East Conference has released its list of final individual basketball statistics for girls, with Presque Isle and Caribou players making the top 10 in several categories.
Caribou Junior Parker Deprey was first in scoring average at 19.4 points per game. Presque Isle senior Jonah Hudson was third at 17.9 ppg, while Caribou junior Isaac Marker was seventh at 15.1 ppg and PI junior Caleb Wheaton eighth at 11.9 ppg.
Junior Alex Bouchard of Caribou was first in assists at 5.3 per game and PI’s Hudson was fourth at 4.1. Caribou’s Sawyer Deprey, a sophomore, was 10th at 3.3 per game.
In the rebounding category, Parker Deprey was eighth with 7.4 per game and Trace Cyr, a senior for the Wildcats, was ninth at 6.8 per contest. MDI’s Drew Shea was first, averaging 8.9 per game.
Caribou senior Austin Findlen led the way in 3-point field goal percentage at 52.3 percent and Presque Isle senior Jason Dumais was ninth at 37.3 percent.
Parker Deprey was third in steals at 2.1 per game and Findlen was sixth as he averaged 1.9. Dumais came in at 1.6 per game. Jose Blanco of Washington Academy led the league with 2.6 steals per game.
Caribou’s Austin Findlen was second in free throw percentage at 68.2 percent and Hudson was fifth at 67.2 percent. On top was Jeremy Richard of Foxcroft, who shot 73.4 percent from the line.
Caribou had four players in the top 10 in two-point field goal percentage. Parker Deprey came in at 61.7 percent, good for second overall. Findlen was fourth (58.3 percent) and Bouchard fifth (56.4), while Marker was eighth (53.5). Ryan Shorette of Orono was in first at 62.5 percent.
As a team, Caribou led the Big East in field goals made (364), free throws made (172), free throw percentage (69), assists (307), points (1,251) and scoring average (69.5). Presque Isle was first in free throw attempts (295).
