CARIBOU, Maine — Maine-based band The Mallett Brothers will perform at the Caribou Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, and will feature songs from their new album “Vive L’Acadie,” which reflects both French and Cajun Influences.
The Mallett Brothers concert is the first in a series of events to mark the 30th anniversary of the Caribou Performing Arts Center. Darci Faye, arts manager for The Center for Advancement of Rural Living, said that dates have been established for two plays, “Bonnie and Clyde,” June 27-29, and “Matilda the Musical,” July 25-27.
“We are looking forward to a very exciting summer,” said Faye. “We are still looking for talent and we encourage people from throughout the region to contact my office at the Performing Arts Center. We have a unique opportunity to rebuild the arts here in Caribou and we have a wonderful facility.”
Other upcoming acts include Tim Sample on Aug. 30, and coming this fall, Spencer and the Walrus, a Beatles cover band. The band has been selling out venues in the Portland area. A specific date for Spencer and the Walrus performance has not yet been determined.
