REED, Elida M. (Giggie), 83, of York, died July 23, 2007.
    York – Elida M. (Giggie) Reed, 83, of 87 Beech Ridge Rd., died Monday, July 23, 2007 of a broken heart. She was born, October 24, 1923 in Caribou, Maine, daughter of Elbridge and Hannah (Doody) Giggie. She worked as an auditor for Sears for many years. She was a member of the York Street Baptist Church and the Keenagers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
    Her husband of 61 years, Elvis Reed, died in 2005; she leaves a son, Timothy D. Reed and his wife, Carol of York Harbor; 2 daughters, Sarah A. Garger of Dover Point, NH and Susan J. Shakelton of York, ME; a sister, Althea Walker of Temecula, CA; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Garger, Mary Ann Garger, Christopher Tufts, Gabriel Shakelton, Charles Shakelton and Dalelyn Reed; 3 great-grandchildren, Nicky Fletcher, Dylan Fletcher and Zachary Shakelton; also many dear friends.
    The funeral service for Mrs. Reed was held at Noon on Friday, July 27th in the York Street Baptist Church, 61 York St., York, ME. Burial followed in First Parish Cemetery, York, ME.
