Pike named to NARFE Board
Arthur G. Pike, of Mapleton, was elected to a two-year term on the National Executive Board of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association at its 32nd Biennial National Convention in Reno-Sparks, Nev., held Aug. 26-30.
Delegates of the 275,000 member-strong organization determined NARFE’s direction for the next two years and set goals for the Association’s legislative program, including preserving the earned benefits of federal employees and retirees. Pike represents NARFE Region I, which includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Pike has extensive NARFE experience, including serving as first vice president, second vice president, secretary and president of the Maine Federation. He also has held various positions in NARFE Chapter 2132 in Mapleton.
An Army veteran, Pike served in the Army Reserve and the Maine Army National Guard. While in the National Guard, he worked fulltime in various positions, later accepting a direct appointment as a warrant officer. Pike holds a bachelor’s degree in management and completed a number of courses at military and civilian schools.
NARFE is the only membership organization solely dedicated to protecting and preserving the benefits of all federal workers and retirees. Founded in 1921, NARFE’s legacy spans more than 90 years, advocating on behalf of the federal family.
