The Caribou Daughters of Isabella met on March 5, 2019, for their monthly meeting.  The winner of the 50/50 raffle was Robin Fortin and she was also the birthday lady for March.  The Circle sang the “Happy Birthday” song for all our March Birthday Ladies.

At 6 p.m. Regent Elaine Haines called the meeting to order.  Chancellor Elizabeth Long led the circle in opening prayer. Regent Elaine Haines and Chancellor Elizabeth Long led the circle in The Draping of the Charter Ceremony for the passing of Fr. Lionel Chouinard, state Daughters of Isabella chaplain/adviser.

The group sung the Opening Ode and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.  Chancellor Long shared the March reflection, which focused on the Second Sorrowful Mystery, the Scourging at the Pillar.

Jeanine Morneault presented February’s minutes; they were accepted as read.  Communications for March included: a thank-you card from Gail Hjort; a thank-you card Fr. Dave Raymond, pastor, for the circle’s donation to the Holy Rosary Fuel Fund; and a note from State Regent Martha Dufour, who extended the second call for the state convention. Convention will be May 17-19, 2019, hosted by St. Cecilia Circle of Old Town, with the theme “Women of Hope.”

The circle suggested a donation in memory of Fr. Chouinard to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The group welcomed Theresa Dube, the newest member.

Any ladies age 16 or older are encouraged to join.  The Circle would love to have new people come on board, and aims to make the Daughters of Isabella an organization that is vibrant, service oriented, spiritually uplifting and a true sisterhood.
