CARIBOU, Maine — Local and county police are searching for 27-year-old Chad Peterson of Caribou who is wanted for allegedly violating a protection order and domestic violence terrorizing.
The Caribou Police Department and Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office indicated on their social media sites that there is a warrant out for Peterson’s arrest and that he has “been given multiple attempts to turn himself in to face these charges.”
No additional information was provided on the posts, but news archives indicate that he was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer in 2014, operating under the influence and refusing to submit to arrest or detention in 2016, and criminal threatening in 2017. Records state that he was sentenced to 27 days in jail for a probation violation in March of 2018, and 146 days in jail for a probation violation in September 2018.
Police are asking members of the public with any information about Peterson’s whereabouts to contact the sheriff’s office at 1-800-432-7842, the Caribou Police Department at 493-3301, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-638-8477. Those who call Crime Stoppers “may be eligible for a cash reward,” according to the social media post.
