PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Utility crews from Emera Maine were working Friday morning, April 19, to repair a power outage after a bird caused damage to a Presque Isle substation.

“Crews are working to safely restore service as quickly as possible to more than 1,600 affected customers in Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Presque Isle and Washburn,” said Emera spokesperson Judy Long.

The company issued a statement at 10:36 a.m. estimating power would be restored by 11:30.
